Classes at Airborne Training Center

Level 1 Tumbling (Ages 4-6)

Listening skills have improved to a point where basic tumbling skills are easier to build on; rolls, both forward and backward, can be perfected and cartwheels will begin to take shape. As we continue to improve core strength and shoulder and back flexibility we will begin to introduce the beginning stages of backbend kick overs and back walkovers. Trampoline safety procedures are introduced and enforced; encouraging kids to emulate such procedures with any back yard trampolines they may come in contact with.

Level 1 Tumbling (Ages 6-8)

This is a beginner level class where kids will work on the over-all strength and flexibility necessary for basic tumbling skills. This level is the most important level since it sets their foundation for all of their tumbling advancement. Proper technique will be enforced to ensure strong tumbling basics to build on. Rolls, cartwheels, both front and back walkovers, and handstands will be perfected at this level as well as the introduction of proper round off technique.

Level 1 Tumbling (Ages 9+)

Level 1.5 Tumbling

Once basics are perfected we can start working on drills for flight skills, such as front and back handsprings and tucks. Drill technique is extremely important to ensure proper body alignment during skill execution therefore handstands are drilled every class as the foundation of all tumbling.

Level 2 Tumbling

The foundation has been built and if necessary strength, flexibility and proper technique have all been established then back handsprings should be strong at this point. We will continue to work on standing back handsprings, multiple back handsprings and front handsprings leading into running tumbling skills. Round offs should also be perfected at this point and the goal of putting running tumbling passes together is very attainable.

Level 2.5 Tumbling

Once strong running tumbling passes are containing multiple handsprings then this class will be the next step to taking flight. Strength and special awareness drills will be reviewed to ensure successful tuck positions in the air, whether front or back. The goal of this class is to start adding tucks into running tumbling passes and perfecting tuck technique on both the trampoline and the Air Trak. Front tumbling passes will begin to improve with strength and repetition.

Level 3 Tumbling

This class is for strong tumblers who do not need a spot for round off back handspring back tuck. Tumblers who have mastered this skill is ready to start training for combination specialty passes. Proper layout technique will be emphasized in order to ensure a strong foundation for twisting skills. Front tumbling connections will be increased as well as the level of difficulty.

Parkour Beginner

At it’s center, the discipline of parkour is about crushing self-doubt by learning how to focus on improvement, by challenging yourself to be better than you are, by connecting with other people in similar mindsets that want nothing more than your success.

Parkour training revolves around two very important things: progression and repetition. You don’t start trying to jump across a 10-foot gap, from the top of a railing to another. You start by jumping in place, where you stand. And you do it over and over until you’re comfortable enough to jump a little higher, push a little further.
